I Heart Art.

Tarrawarra art museum.

Yesterday I went to the Tarrawarra art museum which is in the Yarra Valley. I was amazed by the wonderful scenery and I tried to get photos from as many angles as I could. Most of the photos I took include the structure of the museum (which is amazing as well).
The building is very abstract I might add.
Maybe now you can see why I was so blown away by the scenery and the structure of the building.
One word: awesome!
Oh and I almost forgot... when I actually went into the museum I found a Brett Whiteley painting with a very small heart on it.
A perfect end to a perfect day!

I Heart Hoot.

My new crafting project has been named Hoot. These are the photos from start to finish and all the stages in between.
This morning we decided to make a new and very cute soft toy. First step... choosing fabrics and making pattern. I have never used a sewing machine before and I thought that today would be a good day to learn. My Grandmother kindly let me sew the straight lines to start out.

When we had the front and back ready, I then added some rick-rack braid and lace.
I then added some crochet eyes and a little gold heart (of course).

After adding a flower button, button eyes and lace wings, we sewed the pieces together.

Then I had a fun time trying not to make a mess while filling her with cotton stuffing.
Many hours of work later, I finally had the finished product, Cute Hoot.
Hand sewn on her back is a lace butterfly and another gold heart.
I was very happy when Cute Hoot was finally finished and I hope you are too.

I Heart What Ken Be Done.

My friend Jackie at What Ken Be Done?  has kindly found a heart for me, and has photographed it on some awesome Ken Done fabric.
Inspired by her email I went out in search of more hearts.
Spilled piece of concrete. Woops.
The builders loved me didn't they! Cracked mud.
Lovers love wet concrete.
Finally the last heart (or should I say two hearts) was found on someones gate.

I Heart MORE Cross Stitching.

My second finished cross stitching project.

Well I finished my second cross stitching letter...YAY! It turns out that it didn't take weeks (it took one afternoon) hehehe. Well here it is my master piece (not really).
You will still have to check in the next week or so if you want to find out what the last three letters are... THEN (if you want to) you can try and figure out what my name is. Don't get your hopes too high though.

I Heart Cross Stitching.

My newest hobby...Cross Stitching.

Lately I have been getting more into craft like knitting, toy making and cross stitching. After finding some very small but cute frames in Asburton Op Shop I was inspired to look through some pattern books (also from an op Shop) and find a nice pattern for me to stitch. I was particularly looking for heart patterns and I succeeded.
I then decided that it would be fun if I cross stitched all 5 initials of my real life name.
You will have to check in the next few weeks to see the rest.

I Heart The City.

Melbourne City.

Eight hearts again! Wow I certainly am doing well for finding hearts! First stop for today was the luscious Lush, a store filled with all kinds of soaps and hand creams. Firstly I found some heart shaped bath bombs.
The second find for today looked like it was from Vegas but it wasn't...
However it did come in this awesome wrapping paper!
Well if you love hearts why don't you try walking in them!
Now I don't know which you like better...chocolates or hearts...but... you can have both!
That also applies if you like cupcakes too.
Yum.
Hearts are here hearts are there hearts are everywhere especially at Kiki.K!
Spot the Hearts.

I wonder what tomorrow will bring? But whatever it is I will definitely be playing Spot The Hearts.

I Heart Op Shops.

Op Shops around Melbourne.

I found eight hearts today (Well one isn't a heart but it is something pretty funny) in Op Shops around Melbourne. The first one I found was some bath soap.
My second find today was a very romantic candle.
The third heart I found today was a heart shaped box hidden in the corner of a bookshelf.
The fourth one for today was a heart that told the time.
Fifth for today was probably made by someone who wanted to frame their heart.
The sixth one I found was an old bottle of perfume that was made from the heart.
The seventh one I found wasn't really a heart but it did break my heart.
Final one for today wasn't in an Op Shop, but instead in a cafe that I went to to take a break.
That's it for today! My adventures today definitely were successful! Tomorrow there will be more to come but that's it for now! Remember to check tomorrow for more heart full adventures.

I Heart Markets.

The Camberwell Market.

Four hearts I found today (15th Jan). The first one I found was a heart shaped cushion that was for sale at one of the stalls.

The second one I found was in a cafe next to the markets. I was just having breakfast and I found some hearty food.
The next one is my favourite. I was talking to one of the store holders when I was looking for more hearts and she pointed one out on the bark of a tree.
Now the last one. As I was walking back from the main stores in Camberwell I found out that someone loves someone via a wall.
Well that's all the hearts I found on my adventures today. I will post some more photos up tomorrow!

The Inspiration.

My step-mother, my dad and I were out for a drink and I was showing them my photos on my camera and I said to them that it would be nice if I had a specific subject to work on. My step-mother then said that a good subject to do was to capture images of how hearts appear, she then pointed across the road and on one of the building windows was a wrought iron bar in the shape of a perfect heart. From then on I have been taking photos of many hearts in all different shapes and sizes. Mostly I find them in nature but some are man made.
I hope you enjoy my heartfelt journey.

The Challenge.

Hello everybody my name is Moloko Soldon. My challenge for this blog is to capture images of many hearts and how they appear in  nature, craft and much more. Using my camera I will try to take good photos of all the hearts I see. Sometime soon I will post all the images I have taken so far.
